Sony Ericsson HCB-150 speakerphone announces callers

Sony Ericsson’s latest hands-free kit sets out to solve one of those annoying in-car problems: knowing who’s calling you without having to pick up the phone itself to glance at the display. Instead of relying solely on a secondary screen, the HCB-150 features text-to-speech, so the Bluetooth unit simply tells you who is interrupting your commute.

Battery life is impressive too, with 700hrs standby and up to 25hrs talktime. The HCB-150 has touch-sensitive controls and does, in case you’re afraid of talking gadgets, feature an OLED display for visual Caller ID. Once paired with your cellphone (in fact, up to 5 different handsets) the speakerphone sucks out all the contacts, and there’s a handy jog dial to scroll through them.

The Sony Ericsson HCB-150 should be available globally from Q2 2008.

Motorola MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth-enabled Speakerphone Released

There is news on the corner that Motorola has unveiled the MOTOROKR T505 very quietly. The T505 is a speakerphone system just like the T305 and T605.


The new palm-sized speakerphone from Motorola can be mounted in the car. The device enables hands-free calling with most Bluetooth phones.

Beside, the ordinary features like hands-free conversation the T505 can also beam music stored in a mobile phone or some portable media player. The speaker provides the quick access to frequently used functions such as a play/pause/stop music.

Moreover, Motorola’s new speakerphone features text-to-speech recognition that verbally announces caller ID and also ideal FM settings when an auto-scan system finds a clear channel.

The MOTOROKR T505 is powered by lithium-ion battery having estimated life span of 20 hours.

No pricing and availability information of the MOTOROKR T505 is known as there is no official announcement made from Motorola’s side.

Nokia HF-300 Speakerphone Announced

Nokia, king of mobile phones, has announced a Speakerphone, the HF-300.

It’s a functional-looking device that isn’t going to set the catwalk-goers alight with whoops of joy.

They’ve done well in reducing the number of buttons to three on the battery-powered device, with two of those being volume controls. They’ve even missed off a power button, as it switches itself off when it’s not being used.There’s no wires between the device and the phone, as it uses Bluetooth, and will give up to 20 hours talk time.

Suggested UsesThey’re focusing it for use in car - indeed it easily clips on the sun visor - which, as legislations around the world tightens, and drivers are forced to give up their handsets to improve driving safety, makes a lot of sense.

Don’t fry your Kids brainsOne market that Nokia appears to have missed (or choose to ignore) is that lots of people don’t like mobile phones getting close to their children’s heads, as they’re worried as to the possible effect of the mobile’s wireless radiation. The HF-300 has rubber feet on it, making it easy to place it on a desk.

With the HF-300 Speakerphone, conversations with people can be carried out on mobile phones without the phones being next to their heads.

Nokia expect it to be for sale during the third quarter of 2007, at around 90 Euros.
